Caritas Internationalis Study Guide to the Millennium Development Goals
May 7th, 2007
Caritas Internationalis has recently released an excellent study guide on the Millennium Development Goals for parishes and interested groups. The study guide uses the “See-Judge-Act” Theological Reflection Model as an effective and faith-filled way to accomplish the MDGs.
“Breaking with Business as Usual: Achieving the Millennium Development Goals” briefly lays out each of the goals, and then offers a way to examine the MDGs through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching. The third section looks at ways in which people can take action to realize the Millennium Development Goals. The guide includes a very useful resource guide to enable people to become involved in specific campaigns to further the MDGs.
The booklet was written and published by Caritas Internationalis and Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) animators of various Roman Catholic Congregations of religious women and men based in Rome, Italy. The Missionary Oblates were among this group.
