Jubilee Cancel Debt Fast Needs Your Voice!

The Jubilee 40-Day Rolling Fast to cancel the debt of low-income countries will end with a Prayer Breakfast and Lobby Day in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, October 16. The campaign is working to gain passage of the Jubilee Act (H.R. 2634) which calls on the U.S. government to press for debt cancellation of money owed to the World Bank and the IMF for low-income countries not covered by the 2005 G-8 debt deal. Twenty additional countries desperately in need of debt cancellation would benefit from this legislation.

The Cancel Debt Fast has garnered 85 co-sponsors for the legislation to date, and the number increases daily as people meet with their Congressional Representatives. Please visit the Jubilee USA website for information on the legislation as well as all the supporting information you might need to talk with your Representative.
