The 2008 State Department Report on Trafficking in Persons is now available. “Trafficking and exploitation plague all nations, and no country, even ours, is immune,” said Secretary Condoleeza Rice on the issuance of the report recently. The good news is that governments, human rights and women’s groups, faith-based organizations, and many brave individuals are dedicated to combating this scourge and advancing the cause of human dignity worldwide.
