2008 US Trafficking in Persons Report Now Available July 1st, 2008
The 2008 State Department Report on Trafficking in Persons is now available. “Trafficking and exploitation plague all nations, and no country, even ours, is immune,” said Secretary Condoleeza Rice on the issuance of the report recently. The good news is that governments, human rights and women’s groups, faith-based organizations, and many brave individuals are dedicated to combating this scourge and advancing the cause of human dignity worldwide.

Studying Trafficked Children: Challenges, Dilemmas and Opportunities January 8th, 2008
In a commentary based on recent research, Elżbieta M. Goździak examines the experiences of children, mostly girls, trafficked to the United States for sexual and labor exploitation and analyzes their prospects for reintegration into the wider society. She looks at the challenges and dilemmas as well as the opportunities in studying child trafficking and formulating recommendations based on empirical research. Elżbieta Goździak is Director of Research at the Georgetown Institute for the Study on International Migration.
