Eco-Tips: Share With Others What You No Longer Need

February 15th, 2011

On last week’s ecology corner we suggested that you donate books and puzzles that you no longer use. There is a lot more that can be recycled and more of which others can make good use if you no longer need it. Go through your closet, your attic, your basement… even look under your bed! Find the things that you don’t want anymore.

Find places that can use your old things. Look in the phone book and write down the numbers for your local hospital, library, Salvation Army, and so on. Some recycling centers take clothes and books to pass on to others. They call it “freecycling”. This means they recycle our old stuff by giving it away for free. MEND takes donations. A garage sale is also a good idea.
