Pro-Life Issues

“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” CCC 2270

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has a large staff working on pro-life activities and their website is rich with information resources.

Oblate involvement in Pro-Life Activities:

March for Life – Each year, the Oblates provide housing for 20-30 seminarians who come to Washington for the March for Life on the National Mall. Individual Oblates also attend the March.

Dwight Hoeberechts’ March Across America – in 2009, Fr. Hoeberechts joined Crossroads America in walking across the country to raise awareness of pro-life issues.
