Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador was beatified on May 23, 2015. His legacy of standing with the poor still lives on today. We ask through the intercession of Archbishop Romero that we may all work with and for the poor, justice and oppressed of the world.
Blessed Archbishop Oscar Romero’s life and witness continue to inspire millions of people around the world to reflect on how to live out the Gospel in light people of justice and peace. Archbishop Romero killed while celebrating the Mass in 1980.

We ask that like Blessed Oscar Romero
we will not be afraid to risk all that we have to follow you,
to stand with the poor and oppressed.
May you grant us the same courage you gave
Blessed Oscar Romero:
That we will feel what we are afraid to feel
That we will not be overwhelmed
by all that needs to be done
but that we will follow you,
And trust that you will walk with us
on our journey of discipleship,
wherever it may lead.
May our walk be one of true solidarity
As Archbishop Romero’s was.
And in life and death
May we bear much fruit.

A New York Times article, Catholic Trust Looks to Brazilian Fund for Social Returns, is a story about faith-based investments in Brazil through the work of the Missionary Oblates Fr. Seamus Finn OMI.
For the Oblates, not only are investment gains important, but also the fund looks at whether its investments are providing social improvements, such as in education, health care or the environment.

En una nueva carta pastoral “Familia Más Allá de las Fronteras”, los obispos católicos de la región fronteriza de Texas, Nuevo México y México humanizar el debate de la inmigración , colocándolo en un contexto moral con ilustraciones específicas de los niños y las familias que luchan.
“Uno de los arzobispos hablaron emocionalmente acerca de los hijos de inmigrantes indocumentados, algunos de tan sólo 5 años de edad , que desafían los peligros del desierto y coyotes y se ocultan de las autoridades , así como los traficantes de personas en un intento de alcanzar la seguridad de una nueva casa de esperanza “.
Los obispos que trabajaron en “Familia Más Allá de las Fronteras” representaban el liderazgo de estas diócesis y arquidiócesis : (de Texas) Amarillo, Brownsville , El Paso, Lubbock, San Angelo y San Antonio (De Nuevo México ) La Diócesis de Las Cruces. (De México ) Chihuahua , Ciudad Juárez, Cuahteoc – Madera, Matamoros, Monterrey, Nuevo Casas Grandes , Nuevo Laredo , Piedras Negras – Catedral Mártir , y Saltillo.

Gobierno se niega a publicar base de datos sobre pueblos indígenas y excluye de procesos de consulta a comunidades de costa y sierra donde está concentrada actividad minera.
La aplicación de la Ley de Consulta Previa a Pueblos Indígenas sobre medidas legislativas o administrativas que los afecte directamente, en vigencia desde hace poco más de un año, viene teniendo enormes retrocesos en el Perú. Bajo el paraguas de la caída de los precios de los metales y la desaceleración del crecimiento económico de China y Europa, a fines de abril el gobierno exoneró temporalmente de la consulta previa a 14 proyectos mineros ubicados en la costa y sierra del país y que se encuentran en fase de exploración.
